Brief Write Assignment: Review syllabi for AI policies, practice uploading one syllabus, and generate a study plan. In your Brief Write answer the following question: "What were the strengths and weaknesses of the study plan Copilot recommended?"

Website Assignment: Create two or three presentation slides telling a story of an experience that highlights a professional skill. Post your presentation slides on your website.

In Class: Using AI for academic research: strengths, issues, and hallucinations.

AI Tools: Perplexity and Copilot

Brief Write Assignment: Compare Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot to identify an issue in your field that interests you. Trace the related citations. In your Brief Write, answer the following question: "What are the strengths and weaknesses of using AI tools for initial research queries?"

Week 7: February 27, 2025

In Class: Getting involved in your field. Creating an academic voice. Using the UF library for research and how to read for academic purposes.

In Class Presentation: Library Resources (Jasmine Simmons)

Website Assignment: Identify an article about the issue in your field that interests you. You will respond to this article in a future assignment.

DUE: no official due date, but identifying this article now will help you complete the March 13th assignment.
